Trash Rack Cleaners
Blocked intake screens can cause major headaches for turbine plant operators. Newmills’s trash rack cleaners are an excellent way to increase revenue from an existing site or can be supplied as part of a turbine supply package. Each trash rack cleaner is designed to automatically clear debris from turbine intake screens ensuring minimum head loss across the screens at all times.
Control Panels
Newmills Engineering can manufacture, supply and install control panels for all of our water turbines. These range from simple systems for small generators to state of the art multi megawatt control panels.
Sluice Gates
Sluice gates of virtually any size can be manufactured and installed by Newmills engineering. We also supply hydraulic power pack and controls for operating sluice gates.
Fish Screens
Newmills Engineering manufacture, supply and install electronic fish deterrent systems known as fish screens. These fish screens can be installed on turbine outlets or tail races to prevent fish from attempting to enter a turbine through its draft tube. The effectiveness of Newmills Engineering’s fish screen has been demonstrated by testing. A report commissioned by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment found Newmills Engineering’s screens to be highly effective in preventing fish from entering a turbine tailrace.
Electronic Load Controllers & Load Banks
Newmills Engineering can supply Electronic Load Controllers suitable for frequency controls on turbines were there is no utility grid available. We also manufacture load banks to operate with these controllers.
Submersible Pumps
Newmills Engineering can supply, install and maintain submersible and other types of pumps.
Tilting Gates
Designed and Manufactured by Newmills Engineering, tilting gates have been used to control the level of lochs and for flood control on rivers.
